Unit of Competency - SE16GE07

Undertaking a Rapid Risk Assessment

Audience

Any person working within remote locations, relief and development and or with safety responsibilities for other staff.

Summary

This Unit looks into the rationale and methodologies used to undertake a rapid assessment of risk where time or indeed location, make it difficult to move through more of a structured, detailed risk management activity.

The Unit concentrates on identifying tools for assessing from a remote location, external networks for gaining and reviewing information as well as formats for presenting assessments to program senior management levels, particularly in the event of a rapid scale up or deployment of teams in response to a quick onset disaster.
